How to relabel two identical TOSHIBA 1Tb USB 3.0 disks in a view to be auto mounted properly at XBMC

September 19, 2014 Leave a comment

I have two identical 1TB Toshiba USB 3.0 disks, and when I attach them to my RaspberryPI running XBMC, they appear as identical TOSHIBA EXT mounts at the GUI

After searching at the udev rules, I decided just to rename the partitions …

root@raspbmc:[Fri Sep 19 19:31:40][~]$ umount /media/TOSHIBA\ EXT

Apache high load due to NFS timeouts nfs_wait_schedule /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs

nfs client : nfs: server not responding, still trying, Apache sudden high load freezing the box

Solution
1. increase the nfsd servers start number
2. switch to UDP : settings for the fstab line:
nfs noatime,rw,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,udp,nolock,hard,intr,async,nodev,nosuid 0 0
3. force the ethernet device driver AT both sides NFSD server AND client Duplex to full
/usr/sbin/ethtool -s eth1 speed 100 duplex full autoneg off
