Slackware 13.1 install mysql-proxy-0.8.0

1. download from http://launchpadlibrarian.net/38410307/mysql-proxy-0.8.0.tar.gz
2. slapt-get -install lua-5.1.4-i486-6sl
3. slapt-get -install libevent-1.4.14a-i486-1sl
4. untar mysql-proxy-0.8.0.tar.gz
5. cd /opt/installs/mysql-proxy-0.8.0
6. ./autogen.sh
7. ./configure –with lua
8. make -j3 install
9. IMPORTANT : run ldconfig
if you try to run mysql-proxy without ldconfig you will get this error:
root@stats:[Wed Jul 21 08:57:50]:[/opt/lua]$ mysql-proxy -V
mysql-proxy: error while loading shared libraries: libmysql-chassis.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

after ldconfig is executed:
root@stats:[Wed Jul 21 09:03:26]:[/opt/lua]$ mysql-proxy -V
mysql-proxy 0.8.0
glib2: 2.22.5
libevent: 1.4.14-stable
lua: Lua 5.1.4
LUA_PATH: /usr/local/lib/mysql-proxy/lua/?.lua
LUA_CPATH: /usr/local/lib/mysql-proxy/lua/?.so
== plugins ==
admin: 0.7.0
proxy: 0.7.0
