web server realtime flv bandwidth usage stats

inotail -f access.log | awk ‘BEGIN {FS = ” “}/.flv /{if ($10!=”-” && $9=200){count=count+$10;}; count1=count;count1=count/1024/10124;print $10″\t\t”count1 }

well, you may write to sqlite3 db or just to properly named plain txt file or to rrdtool db
there are many possible things to be added as counter per file or per file and referrer .. etc ..
it seems its much more simple way to do, even because if you keep the log files, you may rerun the counter on monthly basis
and you may add different counters on the fly 🙂
and, even the file is truncated, the counter will keep working without issues.

I bet ppl with no *nix experience will ask me why the hell i dont use awstats or similar
some will mention apache module mysql_log or whatever the name was …
One reason:
I hate web servers to do tasks different than just serving web sites.
And I do prefer simplicity on my servers.

and, now comes the best … :
